Happy City

Citybuilding! A classic genre for board gaming, but instead of focusing on money (though you’ll need some), Happy City tasks players with making their citizens as happy as possible in a bright, colorful tableau-building game that’s approachable for the whole family (and a great introduction to the genre).

Happy City was a favorite of a lot of the Committee, as cute art and quick playtime made for a delightful experience for players. While the game doesn’t stray away from more in-depth concepts, it packages them in a simple and straightforward manner so that most anyone can pick up the box and play.

What Our Committee Is Saying

Balancing the need to make money with the ultimate goal of having happy citizens is at the heart of this game, and makes for a nice bit of tension in your choices.

Jonathan Liu

The game is quick and easy to learn, which makes it great for anyone.
