Let’s Go! To Japan

In Let’s Go! To Japan, players have thirteen rounds to plan out the ultimate Japan trip, splitting their time (not always evenly) between Tokyo and Kyoto. For plenty of folks, travel might not be in the cards, but Let’s Go! To Japan’s cards keep that goal accessible. It’s cheaper than flying, anyways. Once you’ve planned out your perfect trip, all that’s left is to actually go, earning Let’s Go! To Japan its name. You’ll activate your cards as best you can to score the points you need in order to win.

The Committee recognizes that Strategy Games are a happy medium between approachability and challenge, and we felt that Let’s Go! To Japan really demonstrates that you don’t have to sacrifice either to create a compelling game experience. There’s even a bit of emergent narrative for players as the game serves as a backdrop to a fictional trip to Japan, which may inspire less fictional future plans. Let’s Go! To Japan does all this and more while still bringing in every gamer’s love of scheduling and logistics, and we’re very proud to name it 2025’s Strategy Games Winner.

What Our Committee Is Saying

I’ve really enjoyed playing Let’s Go! To Japan: I enjoy the challenge of plotting out a rewarding schedule, the gamble of choosing a big-scoring highlight that I hope I’ll be able to fulfill, the logistics of making sure I have enough train tickets to get between the cities.
